Be A Part of Something Wonderful!
Olde Worlde Theatre Company has had the great pleasure of working with professional actors, seasoned community theatre actors and aspiring actors braving the stage for the first time. Regardless of which category our performers fall into, we welcome people to work with our company. For those who are new to the stage, our Managing Director Lisa Larson shares her story of how she came to love performance art:
"About 20 years ago I was applying for our son to attend our local Waldorf school. As an added benefit, Richard [my husband] offered to perform two plays a year. One to be performed during it's annual fundraiser. After a couple of years Richard took one of the play videos to our local Historic Belcourt Theatre and asked if they would consider having us perform children's theater shows. They agreed to give us one shot on a Saturday morning. 15 years later we have been non-stop. That too was the beginning of my acting, teaching, back stage directing, casting, prop making, costume making and procuring, producer and marketing career. You see, I was VERY NERVOUS even acting at the school. Then when the Belcourt said ""YES", Richard wanted me to be the Giants wife. The Belcourt holds 320 people! I reluctantly said I would do it. I was nervous beyond my comfort zone! I decided that I was going to capitolize on my nerves and made the Giants wife just like Edith Bunker, from the TV show All in the Family. I knew the Giant was going to be demanding just like him and it worked well! I made it through and it' was over. Not completely over! The Belcourt liked what they saw and offered Richard to do another show, this time they allowed him to have 2 or 3 dates to perform. These days all is well until Richard comes to me and says, "Baby! I just need 1 more Pig!". I have been involved in everyone since." - Lisa Larson, Managing Director
